From Blueprint to Reality: The Academic Wing Takes Shape
It is truly inspiring to see our collective vision move from blueprints to bricks and mortar. Since our last update, the new Academic Wing has undergone a remarkable transformation; with walls and windows now securely in place, the intentional design of each classroom and breakout space is finally coming to life.
We are pleased to share that we remain firmly on track, from both a schedule and budget perspective, to welcome students into these new spaces in the new school year. Our construction partners continue to work with a dedicated focus, sharing our deep-rooted mission to create an environment that is as unique and capable as the Rundle Academy students themselves.
The elements have been on our side recently, allowing us to reach the "weather-tight" milestone. With gas service already connected and electrical installations beginning shortly, the building is quickly becoming a functional reality. However, we know that a school is more than just its shell.
Much of our recent work has centred on the "heart" of the building: the furniture, fixtures, and equipment that will elevate this project from a construction site to a true home. By incorporating wooden cabinetry and cozy cubby seating areas throughout the hallways, we are ensuring that every corner of the wing radiates warmth and belonging.
In the coming months, our focus will shift toward the finer interior details while the exterior begins its final transformation with architectural panelling and thoughtful landscaping. Every milestone we reach serves as a reminder that this progress is only possible because of the heartbeat of our community.
